HELP PAGE

This HELP PAGE is especially for conference attendees who want to contact others before the conference.  Let us know if you can think of anything else to add to this list.

DO YOU NEED TO...

  1. SHARE TAXIS to and from Sydney Airport. Sometimes people share taxis to help share costs. Leave a comment below if you can help.
  2. ALL ALONE?  Is this your first conference and you don't know anyone? Drop a line in the comment section.
  3. CRIT. BUDDIES? A member suggested some attendees might be looking for a critique buddy. Say where you're from, what you write and what sort of crit buddy you're looking for... you might even connect up at the conference.

  1. I'd like to carpool with someone coming from Willoughby area on the Friday, Sunday and Monday. I have a car but I imagine there won't be much parking around. I know we'll need lots of cars on the Saturday.

I also have a few questions:
    - Friday night - cocktail - does this mean we need to be dressed up?
    - meals - which meals are provided?
    - book swap - I don't have any books to swap yet, but my husband is a jazz musician. Could I bring some of his cds to swap instead of the books?

    1. Penny, Susanne's answers to your questions...
Re car pooling... You can contact Wendy Fitzerald at http://www.wendyfitzgerald.com.au/contact.htm and she’ll help you.
      1. Friday night is casual – lots of food (dinner portions) and complimentary red and white wine until 10 p,m. it’s about netoworking and meting lots of people
      2. Dinner is provided also on Saturday and Sunday there’s lunch provided. Saturday you pay for your own lunch.
If you stay on Sunday, need to book – it’s $40 dinner inclusive of wine.
      3. YES to book/CD swap question.

  3. Penny, re question about Friday night cocktail dress, I think anything goes (except shorts and thongs, the rubber variety, lol). Just something nice, I guess. Hope that helps. :)

  5. Thanks Sheryl! Now I'll have to see how many cds my husband is willing for me to swap for children's books.

  6. Hi all,

I'd like to taxi share to the domestic airport on the Monday afternoon after the last session ends at 4.30ish. I hope someone else is headed in the same direction.

  7. What kind of parking is available near and around the Hughenden Hotel? Is there a carpark or is it onstreet and do you know for how long? Many thanks.

    1. It's onstreet parking around the Hughenden. If you find the right back lane it is free all day. ;)

  11. Thanks Sheryl, I will keep a look out for the info. I ought to mention that I will be driving from the Manly area if anyone is interested in a lift.

  12. Re Carpooling- we could get a maxi taxi to and from Chatswood and nearby suburbs if we can get enough people- then we don't have to think about parking and filling meters etc

I'm happy to organise if I get enough interest.

  14. Ramona, Susanne is checking the current parking arrangements around the Hughenden - apparently the council changes things sometimes.
